I choose you. And I’ll choose you, over and over and over. Without pause, without a doubt, in a heartbeat. I’ll keep choosing you.
He wore a flannel, a dirty hat and an orneriness that turned her off right away. She decided to be friendly any way, after all they were sure to cross paths in the small county high school they both attended. In time she tamed that orneriness into kindness and they became good friends. A year of high school fun passed with them spending much of their time together and Wade’s tough country boy charm was starting to whittle away at Ashland’s heart. He asked if she would be his girl and a friendship became a love they would lean on over the next four years.
They love being outdoors and all the things country life has to offer, fishing, kayaking, and walks in the woods. Wade had been waiting for one of these adventures to come around to surprise Ashland, and a day of fishing was perfect. They started out with poles and bait in hand to find the perfect fishing hole. Ashland lead the way and was sure she had found the sweat spot. She turned to tell Wade of her find and there he was on bended knee, with ring in hand, smack dab in the middle of a pile of goose poop! Before she even saw the ring Ashland burst out laughing, with Wade joining in once he realized what he had done. He was laughing so hard he could barely get the words out to ask Ashland to marry him. Thanks goodness she didn’t need to hear them all before saying yes right away.
Believe it or not it was the perfect proposal for these two. They enjoy that much like how they meet, it had an element that some would let ruin it but that they see past with laughter to find the love.
Congratulations Ashland & Wade on your engagement, and thank you for letting me join in the fun and laughter with you.
Much love and happiness,
